Budget-Friendly Outdoor Activities for Kids

I know everyone’s budget looks different, so I went even further to break down these kids’ outdoor activities by price ranges. I hope you enjoy these products, and they help you get your family outdoors for some summer fun!

Kids Outdoor Activities Under $50

Toss-and-Catch Ball Set

The toss-and-catch ball set is a classic. Heck… these were even around when I was a kid, and they would keep my brother and me entertained daily. These should be in everyone’s outdoor play basket!

Bunch O Balloons

Remember back in the day when we would fill each water balloon and hope it didn’t pop when we tied it? Well, that is a thing of the past! Fill these water balloons within 2 minutes with the hose – and done!

Large Delta Kite

For those breezy days, get a kite! It doesn’t matter how much things change. The awe of a flying kite will always be around for kids.

Baby Pool Floater

This kids’ double inflatable pool float makes it easy-peasy to take two babies or toddlers to the pool. The Poolmaster Mommy & US Dual Baby Rider is for children ages 8-24 months or up to 40 lbs. per child.

Kids Outdoor Activities $50-$100

Backyard Inflatable Pool

This backyard inflatable pool is sure to be a hit on those hot summer days! Just connect it to your hose and let the kids have fun. This is a favorite summer kids’ outdoor activity at our house.

Kids Outdoor Activities $100-$200

Schwinn Bike Trailer

The Schwinn Echo 2 Seat Trailer is one of our favorite outdoor activities for kids. Our family enjoys a bike ride with our toddler and preschooler in the double trailer on warm summer days. Our go-to ride is around the nearby lake with a stop for a fun ice cream break!

Kids Outdoor Activities $200-$500

Radio Flyer Odyssey

The Radio Flyer Odyssey is hands-down worth the cost! If you have two toddlers/preschoolers who have outgrown a stroller, the push wagon will get you out of the house and out to the parks. I chose the Radio Flyer Odyssey over the Jeep push wagon option because of the extended handlebars and easy steering. There are great areas in and around the wagon for storing snacks, jackets, blankets, and beverages. I highly recommend it!

DIY Swing Set

If you are looking to cut costs on a swing set and enjoy building things, the DIY swing set might be a good fit for your family. When considering our options, building our own swing set cut the cost by hundreds for us. It’s sturdy, customizable, and our children love it. Check out my blog post on the DIY swing set for step-by-step directions on how it was built.
