Circling Raven Golf Club was rated Idaho’s #1 Public Course in Idaho by Golfweek in 2023. Additionally, it is part of the Epson Tour, the qualifying event for the LPGA, held annually. The prestigious golf course is located at the Coeur d’Alene Casino & Resort in Worley, ID – surrounded by the gorgeous Rocky Mountains and Lake Coeur d’Alene.
As a golfing couple, my husband and I knew that a round of golf at Circling Raven was a must-do activity as we planned for things to do in Coeur d’Alene. We packed our golf clubs for the trip, ready to enjoy a day out on the fairway.

Circling Raven Golf Club is located at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel at 38530 S Nukwalqw St, Worley, ID. It is 25 miles southwest of Coeur d’Alene, ID and 35 miles southeast of Spokane, WA.
We drove to Circling Raven during our anniversary trip to Coeur d’Alene. The drive to the course was scenic along the gorgeous Rocky Mountains.
Circling Raven Golf Club History

Circling Raven Golf Club – The Layout
Circling Raven Golf Club is a par 72 course, covering 7189 yards. The front and back 9 are each a traditional par 36. The holes had wide-open fairways surrounded by trees and gorgeous views from the Rocky Mountains and Coeur d’Alene Lake. The North Fork Rock Creek runs through the back-9 of the course, bringing water hazards to the last few holes.
Circling Raven Difficulty and Playability
Circling Raven Golf Club is designed for the average-to-experienced golfer. The layout brings wide-open fairways, but tough hazards with trees, sand traps, and water. The course is maintained well with excellent landscaping and manicured greens. Be careful of those sand traps, there are a lot of them!
The tees have 5 options to hit from depending on skill level: Gold, Blue, White, Green, and Red. Golfers can also choose from the Blue/White, White/Green, or Green/Red combos. I played the Green/Red combo, while my husband and the two other players in our group played from the Blue tees.
I recommend purchasing a cart when playing the course. Some of the tee boxes were a long drive from the greens.

Circling Raven Restaurant – Twisted Earth Grill
Golfers and visitors can dine at Circling Raven’s restaurant, Twisted Earth Grill. The menu is full of a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items, including eggs benedicts, French toast, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. I ordered the Turkey Sandwich, and my husband ordered the Club Sandwich. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and experienced excellent service in the grill.

Golfing at Circling Raven was one of the highlights of our Coeur d’Alene trip. As a golfing couple, it was a fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary, while enjoying a day out on the course together.
Everyone we encountered on the course was pleasant – from the restaurant staff to the golf rangers and the pair we were matched with. We wouldn’t hesitate to play again at Circling Raven the next time we visit Coeur d’Alene.
